Former Larne star 'trying to pick up more medals' after sealing Ballymena United move
Oran Kearney insists new Ballymena United star Micheal Glynn “has so much growth ahead of him” – and has challenged the former Larne full-back to provide competition for Matthew Clarke in his Sky Blues line-up.
After confirming the arrival of Chris McKee from Linfield on Monday, Kearney has further strengthened his Ballymena squad with Glynn joining upon the expiration of his Cliftonville contract.
The 24-year-old brings extensive Irish League experience to The Showgrounds having won two Premiership titles with Larne alongside spells at Dungannon Swifts, Glenavon and the Reds.
Former Northern Ireland U21 international Glynn helped Cliftonville seal BetMcLean Cup glory in 2025 and made 58 league appearances across his two seasons at Solitude.

Glynn insists his ambition is to celebrate further silverware success after joining Ballymena as the Co Antrim club look to improve on recent form.
"I'm still very young in my career but I've played a lot of games in the league,” he said. “I've picked up a few medals so far and the project here is one of trying to pick up more and pushing for Europe.
"There's a great squad here with a lot of quality players that I've first hand experience of playing against."
Ballymena finished ninth last term, three points ahead of play-off winners Crusaders, and will have their sights set on scaling the Premiership table next season.
Kearney, who replaced Jim Ervin as Sky Blues boss in December, is expected to make a number of signings throughout this summer and insists his main objective is to compile a squad capable of competing for places.
"The aim for us is to have two good players in every position and whilst Matthew Clarke has seen off a few in his position already, it's my job to provide competition to challenge him and Micheál's job is to do that,” said Kearney. “Like many we'll look to bring in, Micheál isn't green and this isn't his first gig, but he has so much growth ahead of him.
"He has a lot of games behind him and many successes and it's a good time for him to come in and move us forward."
