Michael Dunlop confirmed as late entry for 80th anniversary Skerries 100 in Co Dublin
Michael Dunlop is a late entry for this weekend’s 80th anniversary Country Crest Skerries 100 road races.
The event returns in Co Dublin for the first time since 2022 after a four-year absence due to prohibitive insurance costs.

Ballymoney man Dunlop’s last appearance at Skerries was in 2018.
The 37-year-old is fresh from claiming a four-timer at the Tandragee 100 last weekend, where he won both Superbike races on his MD Racing BMW, the Supersport race and the Moto3 race at the Co Armagh meeting.
A statement from the Loughshinny Motorcycle Supporters Club on Thursday night confirmed 36-time Isle of Man TT winner Dunlop would be in action at the event this weekend.
It read: “The Loughshinny Motorcycle Supporters Club are delighted to announce that we have a late entry from 36 times Isle of Man TT winner Michael Dunlop, who will join recent Kells treble winner and local rider Michael Sweeney, as well as Supersport winner from Kells, Kevin Keys.
“Tramore rider Brian McCormack makes a welcome return to join the entry, with Manx rider Marcus Simpson, who had two podiums at Kells, will also line up for the Country Crest Grand Final, in what will be an epic return to racing over the iconic 2.92 mile Skerries course on the 80th anniversary of the event. “Dunlop had a brilliant Tandragee last weekend, taking 4 wins, and with the resurfacing of the main straight of the Skerries course, we are in for an excellent weekend of racing.”
Dunlop is an eight-time winner at Skerries and holds the lap record at 111.582mph set in 2016.
Roads will be closed on Saturday from 12 noon until 8:30pm for practice and qualifying and on Sunday from 8am until 6:30pm for racing.
