Josh Rock will hope to end his maiden Premier League campaign on a high note as the league phase of the darting roadshow comes to a conclusion at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena on Thursday.

After a difficult start to his first season in the Premier League, Rock’s performances have significantly improved in recent weeks and he will hope to go out with a flurry.

However, standing in his way on Thursday is Premier League leader a nd two-time world champion Luke Littler, who ‘Rocky’ has failed to beat in their previous eight meetings.

The top four is already sewn up ahead of next week’s finals night in London as reigning champion Luke Humphries is joined by Littler, Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price at the O2.

Seven-time champion Michael van Gerwen misses out for a second successive year, while debutant Gian van Veen’s debut campaign will also end in Sheffield, along with Stephen Bunting and Rock.

Thursday night’s action will also see Humphries target back-to-back nightly wins as he opens up with a clash against van Gerwen.

Humphries clinched his first nightly victory of the campaign in Birmingham last Thursday, defeating Price in the evening’s showpiece to confirm his place at finals night.

Elsewhere, Price – who leads Humphries by virtue of nightly wins in the league table – plays Dutch number one van Veen in his quarter-final opener.

The evening’s other quarter-final clash sees Clayton and Bunting go head-to-head, with the latter able to finish as high as fifth in the table if results go his way.
