Former British champion Cameron Dawson eager to prove he can 'fight for another title' after securing Sportbike ride with Powerslide Racing
Dungannon’s Cameron Dawson will compete in the British Sportbike Championship this year with the Powerslide Racing team.
Former British Junior Supersport champion Dawson will ride a Suzuki GSX-8R in the series alongside Asher Durham, Finn Smart-Weeden and Brodie Gawith.
Dawson, who also finished as the runner-up in the Junior Superstock Championship in 2023 before stepping up to British Supersport.
He rode for the ROKiT Rookies Kawasaki team last year in the British Supersport Championship before competing in the final four Sportbike rounds, earning top-ten finishes.

Dawson said he hopes to challenge for a second British title in 2026 as he thanked the team for their belief.
“I’m super excited to join forces with Powerslide motorcycles Suzuki for the 2026 campaign,” said the 21-year-old.
“For me I believe this is a step in the right direction to prove we still have what it takes to fight for a second British championship. I can’t thank Brad, Dave and Dale enough for this opportunity and I’m really looking forward to beginning our journey together and aim for it to be successful.”
Brad Clarke, Team Owner of Powerslide Racing, said he was confident the development work with the Suzuki GSX-R8 undertaken last season will be a huge benefit going into the new campaign.
“It is great to have another talented rider in the team and its shows the interest in the Suzuki GSX-8R after a great first year with it in 2025,” he said.
“This really proves the work we have done as a team to develop the Suzuki and now we have the chance to win our first championship as a Suzuki Official Team.”
