Fifteen charities delivering projects across Northern Ireland have received a share of £136,328 funding through the A&O Shearman Foundation, managed locally by the Belfast Grants Committee. A mental health crisis is when a person’s thoughts, feelings or behaviours prevent them from functioning, taking care of themselves, or when they put themselves or others at risk of harm. It can happen to anyone, and you don’t have to have a pre-existing mental health condition. A mental health crisis can be triggered by negative events or stresses such as bereavement, divorce or losing a job, or it can be the result of a prolonged period of substance abuse
